Giorgio Anania joins the Board of Directors of Cube Optics AG

Mainz, Germany - Cube Optics AG, the supplier of engineered components and access network solutions to the telecommunications industry, is delighted to welcome Giorgio Anania to its Board of Directors.


Until earlier this year, Giorgio held the position of CEO of Bookham since February 2001; a company which he helped take public on NASDAQ in 2000 and where revenues grew from zero to $220 million per year in the period, through acquisitions and internal development. Prior to CEO, Giorgio served as Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing since joining Bookham in 1998. Previously Giorgio was Vice President for Sales, Marketing and Business Development at Flamel Technologies (NASQAQ: FLML), a French medical equipment company, which he helped take public in 1996. Prior to this, Giorgio headed Strategic Marketing for Telecom at Raychem Corporation in California. Giorgio spent several years with Booz Allen in New York and OC&C in Paris as a strategy consultant. He has an MA from Oxford University in Physics and a PhD from Princeton University in Thermonuclear Fusion.


Dr. Francis Nedvidek, CEO of Cube Optics explained: “Giorgio has been working with us on refining the company’s strategy since May. The management team, the Supervisory Board and I greatly appreciate his contributions and are extremely happy that he accepted to formally joining our Supervisory Board”.

From its headquarters in Mainz, Cube Optics is commercially exploiting a range of optical components and modules, based on its low-cost active/passive integration platform, tailored to the demands of the access network. The company is enjoying significant revenue growth driven by the rising demand in telecommunications, cable, video distribution applications and sensing.
