Matthew J. Coles

Matthew J. Coles is a Managing Director at Carlyle, where he focuses on buyout investments in the financial services sector. He is based in New York.

Since joining Carlyle in 2010, he has been actively involved in Carlyle’s investments in CAPTRUST, Duravant, Asplundh, Hurst Point, TAMKO, NEP, TCW, Arctic Glacier, Multi Packaging Solutions and RAC. He currently serves on the boards of Arctic Glacier, Hurst Point, NEP and PIB.

Prior to joining Carlyle, Matthew worked in mergers and acquisitions at Lazard in London. He received a B.A. in Modern History, with honors, from St. Peter's College, Oxford University.
